Introduction

The product is a copolymer of Acrylic acid and AMPS in the form of aqueous solution and is effective at high alkaline and high temperature environments. It is a specialized chemical additive used to improve the performance and efficiency of drilling fluids. It imparts outstanding water solubility, hydrolytic stability, thermal stability and salt tolerance in hostile environments.

 

Furthermore, it prevents scale formation, reduces fluid loss and has the ability to provide dispersibility by suspending solid particles, which is essential for effective drilling operations.

 

Maintaining the desired downhole cement slurry characteristics and avoiding undesired operational phenomena require careful control of fluid loss during cementing. Uncontrolled fluid loss may result in reduced thickening times, problems with pressure management, ineffective placement and annular bridging.

Operations that need liquid additives, including those in remote and offshore areas, frequently use oil suspensions that have high viscosity which are difficult to pump through liquid delivery systems and have poor storage stability, which reduces shelf life. This is a product that addresses all of the above mentioned challenges.
